Had a leisurely trip from St Louis, managed to find Route 66 out of the city and stopped at a famous ice cream parlour called Ted Drewes Frozen Custard. All the way down we kept popping off the motor way to drive along that route. We stopped off at The 66 Outpost and bought some trashy memorabilia. We had read in the Lonely Planet Magazine about a really good motel on Route 66 called Monger Moss
so we found it and checked in. Our room was themed with the covers of books written by the bloke who wrote "The Mother Road" The whole motel has a 60s feel - pink bathroom suite with green tiles. Very clean and very neat but old fashioned - lovely! Oh and an added bonus it's got a pool - Yeh
